Forever Homes At Last 4

Blind Beagle and her blind puppies-Bartow, FL

Joy rescued Chloe after realizing that she had been abandoned in the woods near her friend barn. They soon realized that she was totally blind and pregnant.

Chloe delivered 4 puppies--2 of them were blind. Joy wasn't able to keep them and urgently needed to find good homes or surrender them to a rescue.

Chloe is extremely lovable and like most Beagles very intelligent. The vet guessed her to be 3 1/2 to
4 years old and was born blind.  As her story proves she loves life and did all she could after being "thrown away" for her and her puppies.

Tootsie Lynn and Haley Anne are the 2 blind puppies. They are both female and are 6 1/2 weeks old. They are beautiful and love attention...and will wag their tails uncontrollably.

Joy let me know the wonderful news that all have found homes.  The first of March 2001 Chloe will go to her home in Canada.  Haley and Tootie will go (along with a sighted brother) to their new in Melburne, Fl.

6 blind Rottie puppies-Fort Washington, MD

I received an email from a experienced breeder, Lanae, who took into her care six blind Rottweiler puppies and their mom. She took them from another breeder who said the mother is "damaged" now that she has produced a litter of blind puppies. Lanae didn't want to see this man take these dogs to a shelter, she believes as we all do that eventhough it's alittle more work they are no less deserving of good homes than their sighted counterparts.

Lanae let me know she has placed 3 of the pups and 2 are pending adoption.  The 6th one, who is the runt of the litter seems to have found a place in Lanae home and heart and will probably remain there.

Kelly-Blind 12 weeks old Aussie-Glagow, KY

Kandi is a vet tech at an office in Glagow, KY. An inexperienced breeder surrendered a Aussie puppy that was blind. Kandi was fostering the pup who she named Kelly...but she didn't have the time for the proper training and attention Kelly needed.

Kelly had an excellent temperament, and loved all living things.  All she wanted to do was PLAY!!! She is extremely intelligent and learned quickly.

Kandi has found a home for Kelly with a great woman who used to own a working Aussie

Tyg-Blind Poodle-North Carolina

Tyg is a beautiful 5year old poodle blinded by Juvenile Cataracts. However, the blindness never slowed him down...he still loves to run and play especially "fetch" and chase his buddies the cats.

Tyg's foster mom Kathryn Smith let me know that Tyg found his new forever home.  He'll be going to live with Sally in Columbia, SC and will also have a buddy named TeeTee

Have a wonderful life little guy!!

Ty all packed and ready to go!!!!

Visually Impaired Albino Dobie - PHOENIX ARIZONA AREA

A very caring person, Elaine Riley, let me know about a young  Albino Dobie at the Mesa shelter.  She found out from the workers at the shelter the dog had been returned to the pound 3 times and was afraid her days were numbered. Elaine thought the female dobie may have been Visually impaired.

With the help of many-many people who crossposted the info on "Vanessa" she was rescued. SouthWest Wildlife picked up and transported her to the Sonora Vet Hospital.  It turns out she was quite ill and the shelter did not have her spayed because they thought she had distemper. It appears to be a rather serious upper respiratory infection, coupled with a serious thyroid condition.  Her vision problems are only in bright light, since her eyes are blue...otherwise she appears normal.

When Vanessa is well she will be heading to Sara Whalen and PetsAlive in NY. While she is not quite in her own forever home, PetsAlive will verify her next home will be the one that wants her for life.

Yaz-Visually impaired (cataracts)Husky- Lancaster, PA

Yaz wandered into the Lancaster SPCA in Pennsylvania...and she soon found her way into the hearts of her new foster home. She is very sweet and likes to give you kisses. She is timid and shy on first meeting but we are sure there is a little devil in there which any Siberian owner knows and surely loves. She is about 4 years old and is looking for that special home to call her own.

Thanks to Siberian Husky Rescue Yaz found that special home!

Ping-Blind Pug-Las Vegas,NV

Ping is a blind 5 year old female Pug. When she went blind her owners turned her over to Pug Rescue.

This loveable little girl didn't stay homeless very long. Rudy with KC's Pug Rescue let me know that Ping will be going to her new home in California the 4th of Feb

Jeffrey-Blind Beagle/Doxie mix-Houston

Jeffery is a sweet, cheerful  blind beagle mix who loves people. He is blind probably from birth. He loves being out in the yard with all the smells and loves to play little games by himself or with other dogs as long as they don't play rough.

Julie from CAP  let me know Jeffery went to his new home in early Jan. 2001

Tala-Blind Yellow Lab-Sunnyvale,CA

Tala is a Yellow Lab almost 4 years old.  When she was only a few months old she lost her eyesight to Retinal Dysplasia. Her owner at one was taking her to dog training classes but than gave up...thinking life was over for Tala. She was also too busy to spend time with her or take her for walks.

Luckily Tala had a loving God-mother Farah, to help her find her new forever (loving) home. Tala will start out a new year in her new home with new brother & sister!!!!

Tala's God-mother Farah was wonderful to share some letters she got about Tala:

Hello and Happy New Year to each and every one of you!
I am happy to give you the wonderful news that Tala is now settled in with her new family in San Jose. As most of you know, I was so amazed with the number of concerned families who wrote or called and wanted to adopt Tala. Some of you came over and visited us. Tala enjoyed all the love and attention she got from everybody.

She met Luna (the Pitbull), GiMojo (the Giant Shnauzer), Gina (the English Lab), Thomas (the Corgi), Dakota (the Chocolate Lab), Tobik and Jody (the Terriers who adopted her as their new sister) AND their beautiful moms and dads. It was a very hard decision, but we finally found the 'perfect' home for Tala and she got to spend Christmas with her new family! (pictures below)

I received many heart warming letters and would like to share a couple of them with you:
Farah-
Thanks for taking the time to meet with us yesterday. I just wanted to tell you that we really enjoyed meeting Tala. She is truly a beautiful dog with so much love to give. Brad and I were talking last night about how Tala was probably outside in her dog run freezing and alone while Dakota was asleep on my lap on the couch with the fire and christmas tree. We were sad but now comforted by knowing that it is only a temporary situation for Tala! It sounds as though you have lots of wonderful people that are interested in her and that makes us happy! It took Dakota the whole 45 minutes ride home to finally settle down after meeting Tala. She was exhausted last night as well. Again, thank you and we look forward to your coming to our home after the holidays. We hope you have a very happy and
safe holiday!
Take care,
Kimberly

Tala is one of the most darling animals I have ever seen. When she is listening, she cocks her head to the side and it's so endearing. When I told other people about her, they were attentive to how she seemed to have such an outgoing personality, affectionate charm and such enthusiasm for everything...
Ande

I just received a note from Tala's new daddy today and I'm thrilled to share that with you all:
Hi Farah:
Tala is doing well and adjusting miraculously. She already seems to know the neighborhood better than I do and although she still bumps in to things around the house, she is getting much better. She is playing all of the time with
Tobik, and Ryan has her sleeping on his bed....

All I can say is it's wonderful to know there are so many beautiful humans out there who are concerned about special-need animals and know that their physical handicap is not a reason to end their loving existence or a sign of lack of their capacity for love. Please take a moment and look under http://www.blinddogs.com   There may be just the right dog out there for you (or someone you know) to love. You never know!

With warmest regards and best wishes for you all,
Farah Ravon
(Tala's god-mother)
